Dr. Ken Brown moved from Edmonton to enjoy the beautiful mountains of the Kootenays in 1994. He graduated from medicine at the University of Alberta and did his residency in Calgary. Ken has practiced full-service family medicine for 30 years and has enjoyed it immensely. He continues an office and hospital based practice and is involved

Ken has practiced full-service family medicine for 30 years and has enjoyed it immensely. He continues an office and hospital based practice and is involved in the UBC residency training programs. In his spare time Ken enjoys spending time with his family, walking his dog, skiing, and fly fishing.

Dr. Ryck Schielke moved to the Kootenays from central Alberta in 2018, and has never looked back. He and his wife have 2 children, and enjoy all things outdoors. You'll frequently see them around town at all the festivals and farmers markets. Dr. Schielke performs vasectomies, does various injections, and works in clinic and in the hospital.

Dr Ilona Amstutz moved to Cranbrook 9 yrs ago and fell in love with the mountains, forests, sunrises and sunsets of the Kootenays. Skiing, hiking and biking makes up a big part of her free-time.
She lives by the motto "Lost in the forest." Dr Amstutz offers Trigger point injections, Aviation (MOT) medicals, and works in clinic and in the hospital as well as part of the Long Term Care Team.

Dr. Megan Ure completed her medical degree at the University of Calgary (2020) before attending the University of Alberta for her family medicine residency. She moved to Cranbrook in spring 2022. Clinically, she has a general practice panel and sees musculoskeletal consultations. Dr. Megan grew up as a competitive athlete in both figure

Dr. Megan grew up as a competitive athlete in both figure skating and soccer, before taking up track and field in university. Athletics continues to be an important pass-time for Dr. Megan. In the summer, she enjoys exploring local landscapes by foot or bike, as well as playing soccer. In the winter, you can find her staying active in the Kootenays on either skates or skis.

She completed her Master of Nursing- Nurse Practitioner training before moving to the Kootenays. Dina has an all ages family practice. You can find her running, hiking, biking, skiing or travelling in her spare time.

In her spare time, you can find Andrea in the classroom teaching the scientific method to elementary students and guiding high school students on leadership skills as well as community and global service.

She worked full time at the Green clinic until starting her family in 2020, and has since worked part-time as a locum while enjoying being able to spend time with her three young kids. She loves all things outdoors including hiking, cross-country skiing, trail running, backcountry skiing, and most of all mountain biking. Clinically, she currently works as a long-term locum for the Green Clinic and also provides eating disorder care at Foundry. She is hoping to be able to practice breastfeeding medicine in the future and is currently gaining expertise in this field.

A Primary Care Network (or PCN) is a group of health care providers working closely together within a community to improve overall care for patients in that community. As part of the PCN, during your appointment with your Family Physician or Nurse Practitioner, you may see a Nurse, Social Worker, Pharmacist or other care team member who is an employee of the Primary Care Network. By expanding our team to include Health Authority employees we will increase access to health care services and improve the quality of care you receive. Our PCN Social Worker, Alyvia Jovanovic, is available by appointment on Tuesdays and Fridays through Practitioner referral. Jordyn Lee, RN
Jordyn grew up in Cranbrook and once she completed her BSN degree in Victoria, BC in 2018 she moved back home to the beautiful Kootenays. She has worked as a Registered Nurse (RN) in residential care and on the surgical, medical, oncology and intensive care units at EKRH. As the PCN RN at the Green Clinic Jordyn educates patients in chronic disease management and health promotion. She is routinely collaborating with the PCN team to support patients and provide holistic, safe and competent care. When she is not working as an RN Jordyn loves to play sports, hike, cook and travel. She can also be seen trying to tire out her heeler/border collie mix, named Abby!
Nico Brink, Mental Wellness Clinician
Nico is available by appointment on Thursdays through Practitioner Referral. Nico provides proactive support and interventions, education, consultation, and referrals for clients experiencing mild to moderate mental health and substance use conditions, depression/ anxiety, and challenges affecting their health goals pertaining to lifestyle choices. After graduating as a clinical psychologist in South Africa in 2003, Nico worked in various in various in- and out-patient departments in addition to private practice for the past 17 years. Nico completed a certificate in mindfulness based interventions in 2015 and has run Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) programs for groups for the last 10 years.
Diana Zmijak, Occupational Therapist
Diana Graduated from the University of British Columbia in 2003 with a B.Sc. in Occupational Therapy. She moved to Cranbrook after graduation and has been practicing in the East Kootenay’s since that time. Prior to that she was a Certified Dental Assistant in Vancouver.
She has worked in Community Home Health, Acute Care, Residential Care, Slow Stream Rehabilitation (Convalescent Care), as well as some Private Practice (ICBC, WorkSafe). She is currently working for the Primary Care Network/Urgent Care as well as MINT Memory clinic. She has experience working with a diverse population in various settings.
She is passionate about continuing her education and is always striving to upgrade her skills and knowledge in order to best help her clients.
When she’s not learning, she can be found in the Community Forest or out in nature, walking, running or hiking.
Diana is available through referral from your Primary Practitioner for a variety of services.

PRACTITIONER opportunities
Office Based Psychiatrist position
The FW Green Clinic is looking for an office based psychiatrist to join our team in the mountain town of Cranbrook, BC.
We are primarily a family physician clinic, looking to add a psychiatrist to our panel of physicians. The position/space available would be solely office based and located in our newly renovated therapy space. The FW Green Clinic is taking this step as a way of adding to our multidisciplinary care team, and to better serve the needs of our community. The payment model would be fee for service with negotiation for overhead paid to the clinic. The contract is a no strings attached agreement for 1 or 2 psychiatrists to work out of our clinic, 4-5 days per week, Mondays to Fridays. If desired, there would also be an opportunity to join the inpatient psychiatry team at the EKRH but this is by no means a requirement. As no current psychiatric practice exists in our clinic, a schedule and patient panel would be created and tailored to preferences. We are more than willing to assist with this process and have extensive experience setting up referral pathways for specialties within our clinic.
The FW Green Clinic itself is a modern, forward thinking clinic of 13 family practitioners, a Social Worker, a Mental Wellness Clinician, an Occupational Therapist and a Primary Care RN. Patient care is our number one priority and we pride ourselves on being adaptive and innovative in our approach.
